“The orders of the Lord are right; they make people happy. The commands of the Lord are pure; they light up the way.” -Psalm 19:8
How many of you enjoy math? I for one do not care to do math and my children have already learned not to come to me for any help if it’s past the basic of adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. But one thing I have learned with math is that there has to be an order of doing the problem to achieve the desired answer. It’s very hard dividing if you don’t know how to multiply and you can’t multiply without knowing how to add. Everything in math starts at the beginning, learning that one apple plus another apple will give you two apples. It’s a simple order of things.
How about computers? I again am not good at technology and figuring out some things I need when running my computer, but I have learned the same simple thing that is needed just like math. You can’t achieve certain things on the computer unless you follow the right commands. Step by step you have to follow the order and give the right command at the right time. When you’ve learned these couple basic things about math and computer your life seems to run a little smoother and you probably will be happier.
God in on the move in our lives each day. Before we even open our eyes to start a new day, He already has the order of the day set out for us. We might feel we are doing it our way, but He has helped set our minds on the things He wants to be accomplished for the day. Think about it, have you woken up and had all your plans and times of how your day will unfold and then by the end of the day you’re wondering how you didn’t get to any of the things you planned, or you only got to half of them. God had other plans He presented to you that changed your course and although you probably didn’t get much done you still go to bed that night happy for another day accomplished in one way or another.
Psalm tells us best, allowing God to be on the move in our life requires a simple truth, follow the order of things the way God wants you to. Obey His commands, listen to His voice and allow Him to guide your life. In doing so you will find joy and a path well lit. Like math and computers, don’t let life become complicated, just follow the right order and things will always work out.
