Isaiah 40:8 "The grass dies and the flowers fall, but the word of our God will live forever.”
There is one thing I have learned in all my years of being married and being a mom. Just when I think I've got it all figured out, the bills lined up, the kids on a schedule, the house running smoothly, work going strong. Just when life is on a solid track, it up and changes. The car needs to be fixed, the children need this or that for school, the children decide now is the time to get it into a new phase, work gets put on hold. The stability we need in life to keep moving forward never remains constant and it is always changing.
Each year, each month, each day, every hour, life will and can change. Losing a job, friends moving away, kids growing up, relocating because of a job, death of a parent, changing churches or pastors, unexpected expenses, loss of a pet, even the seasons change every few months, the list can go on. But God wants us to remember one thing through all the frustrations of change. God wants you to know you can count on Him and the Bible. “The grass withers, and the flowers fade, but the word of God stands forever.” -Isaiah 40:8.
In Matthew 5:18 Jesus says not one jot or tittle will change until Jesus returns from heaven. In other words, nothing will change the words in the Bible. God's promises are sure and true, and we can always count on Him to keep His word and to be here for us in all the changes in our lives.
Do you want that sense of stability? You can find that when you spend time with Jesus and in the Bible, daily. He will always be the calm in the storm and a rock in the shifting sand.
Two things I can guarantee in your life. 1- Life will always be changing with the world around you. 2- God's word will never change, He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
There is a song I love to hear called, His Word Will Stand. The chorus goes “His word will stand; His word will stand. Though stars should fall, and mountains turn to sand. Though no man believes Him. Still God will be true. His promise is sure, His love will endure. And forever His word will stand.”
This is a promise and a hope that I can hang-on to when my life gets turned all around. And I know when the dust again settles and we are on track once again, God is by my side ready to help us over the next hill. Trust and believe no matter where you and your family are at, know stability will always come from God.
