Pray for Yourself from Head to Toe

“Because of this, since the day we heard about you, we have continued praying for you, asking God that you will know fully what he wants. We pray that you will also have great wisdom and understanding in spiritual things” -Colossians 1:9


Praying for others help others help us put our selfish tendencies asides but God also wants us to also pray for ourselves. Here is a way to pray for ourselves and not ramble into our selfish desires. You can also apply this prayer to anyone in your life.


Your Head: 1 Corinthians 11:3, “May I always look to you Lord as Lord of my life. May I remember to always keep my eyes focused on you.”

Your Mind: 1 Corinthians 2:16, “May my mind be as one with you Lord. Help me not let the world’s thoughts enter my mind and to be focused on you.”

Your Ears: 1 Kings 19:12, “Help me tune out the words of this world and the lies of Satan. Help me keep my ears open to hear your still small voice.

Your Mouth: Proverbs 19:1, “Let my words be pleasing to you and that my words may always be uplifting and of encouragement instead of tearing others down.”

Your Neck: James 4:10, “Let me remember to always humble myself to you each day and remember it is with you I have been blessed.”

Your Heart: Deuteronomy 6:5, “Help me to always have a heart of love and trust in You but also a heart of forgiveness and patience to others around me.”

Your Arms: Psalm 73:26, “Help me to always remember You are my strength if need be Your arms will carry me through.”

Your Hands: Ecclesiastes 3:13, 5:19, “Help me continue to use my hands to further your work, help those in need, hold those who need comfort and to continue in my earthly job and find joy in it.”

Your Feet: Psalm 26:3, “Help me to always walk in Your truth and to follow the path you have set before me. Help me to remember that you will always walk beside me each day.
