Simple Truths: Jesus Loves Me

" Since we have been made right with God by our faith, we have peace with God. This happened through our Lord Jesus Christ, who through our faith has brought us into that blessing of God’s grace that we now enjoy. And we are happy because of the hope we have of sharing God’s glory. We also have joy with our troubles, because we know that these troubles produce patience. And patience produces character, and character produces hope. And this hope will never disappoint us, because God has poured out his love to fill our hearts. He gave us his love through the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to us." -Romans 5:1-5

Sing it with me, 'Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so. Little ones to Him belong, they are weak but He is strong. Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me, the Bible tells me so'.

Such an easy simple truth to carry with us each day. Jesus loves you and Jesus loves me. Let's finish a few more verses.

'Jesus loves me still today. Walking with me on my way. Wanting as a friend to give. Light and love to all who live.'

'Jesus loves me! He who died. Heavens gates are open wide. He will wash away my sins. Let His little children come in.'

"Jesus loves me! He will stay. Close beside me all the way. Thou has bled and died for me. I will always live for Thee.'

We teach this song to our children from infancy up, but somewhere in the teens we stop singing this happy song. Jesus loves me! Why aren't we shouting this as adults? It's truth and we know it, but somehow we forget how to show it.

When we accept Jesus we are made right with God and now are under God's grace and blessings. Romans tells us what our faith in God produces and in all that, the best blessing we receive is God's love poured into our hearts and we now have His love to share with others. We also have His love that will help us overcome anything the devil can throw at us. No matter where we are in our walk through life, we know one thing for sure. Jesus loves us! Let's remember this simple truth and keep this simple song in our hearts well into our old age, not just for the kids.
