Joshua 1:8, “Always remember what is written in the Book of the Teachings. Study it day and night to be sure to obey everything that is written there. If you do this, you will be wise and successful in everything.”

We all know the saying, ‘An apple a day keeps the doctor away.’
Well, there is some truth to that. Apples have many health benefits when we eat them. Eating them can make doctor visits less. For instance, apples promote heart health, help lower your cholesterol, improve blood circulation, and lowers blood pressure.
Apples are good for digestive health and weight management. They help lower your chances of diseases. Apples are also good for vitamin C, give you bone health, and brain health.
I am sure you could find more benefits to eating apples on a regular basis. Apples are delicious and a great snack to fill you up in-between meals. Apples are part of God's creation, so we know they are good for us.
Like apples we can attain many benefits from studying God's Word daily. It's good for our health, heart, mind, and soul. Today, let's look at a fun way to study the Bible applying APPLE. Opening God's Word daily and partaking of its words can keep satan away.
The fun thing about studying this way is it can be done in a couple ways. For each letter you can find things that line up with them in the passage, story, or verses you are reading or take time to explore the entire Bible to find verses to line up with the corresponding letter. Use it as a guide for Bible marking or pray the verse using the phrase you're on. Let's look at our apple today.
A- Attributes of God
Look for characteristics of God such as His nature, desires, heart. It's a joy learning the depths and magnitude of God's character.
-Psalm 103:1-5- God is holy, forgives, heals, redeems, satisfies, and is merciful.
P-Promises of God
Look for the promises God has given understanding God will provide and do as He has promised. We can find hope and comfort and joy and peace when we cling to His promises.
-Again Psalm 103:1-5- God promises to forgive us, heal our brokenness, and lavish us with His love. Such great promises can change us to the core.
P-Principles for life
So much of scripture has teachable words. They help guide us in living a life in Christ, how to apply them to our daily life, and how to treat others. Using the principles we learn our life will take on new meaning and we will grow stronger in Jesus and His light will shine through us to others.
-Romans 12:9-21- This is a good example of how Jesus wants us to live with others, good principals for life. A lot is said here so I am going to let you look this one up.
L-Lessons learned of sin to avoid
No matter how many times we read the Bible we can still learn something new. Depending on where we are in life, scriptures will reveal to us what we need at the time. What is God telling us we should do or what we shouldn't do. What are you going through right now that scripture can help you through? Ask: is God trying to get my attention? What do I need to give over to God? What is something new I can learn?
-Ecclesiastes 21:2- Ask; what are things in your life that are taking you away from your time with Jesus or distracting you from Jesus. Are your actions modeling Jesus?
E-Example to follow
Really examine what you've read and see how you can apply them to your actions. Can you share what you've learned to help others? We want to be doers of the Word not just hearers. Ask yourself if there is any practical way you can apply what you've read to your life.
-Once again in Psalm 103:1-5- we can learn we need to have trust and praise in our life. God is faithful and in moments of struggles, fears, when we're just feeling overwhelmed, we can praise the Lord for His goodness. Use prayer and worship to help us through daily life and all that we face.
Oh, those red, crisp, shiny apples can taste so good. Here's one more way to extend your Bible study time, that I found on Google.
T- Text: read a passage focusing on the words and phrases.
A-Abide: reflect on the passage allowing the words to take root in your heart and mind. How can you apply it to your life?
S- Savor: allow yourself to dwell on the meaning of the passage. What truths about God are revealed?
T- Tease: engage with the text further by asking questions. What does this text reveal about my own needs and desires? How does this challenge my thinking?
E- Enter: apply the truths you've discovered to your life. How will you live differently in response to what you've learned?
No matter the method we use, diving into God's Word daily helps us grow in Jesus, combat the devil’s schemes and attacks, which will get us through each day. When we open God's Word with more direct approaches, we won't just be passively reading the Bible but actively interacting with each text, applying them to our lives. This is a great way to experience God's presence in a way that will help to personally know Him.
Today let's do something a little different for our Bible study and deepening our walk with God. Take today's verse in the picture John 15:5 and use the APPLE and TASTE study to explore the verse a little deeper. When we spend time with our Savior great things will happen even if it's in the smallest blessings.
