Conquer with God's Word

“God’s word is alive and working and is sharper than a double-edged sword. It cuts all the way into us, where the soul and the spirit are joined, to the center of our joints and bones. And it judges the thoughts and feelings in our hearts." -Hebrews 4:12

Jesus was tempted three times by Satan in the desert and each time He conquered that serpent with three simple words, "It is written". When Jesus used the scriptures to fight off the devil's temptations, He became the Conqueror. We too can conquer Satan and this world when we use the same approach Jesus did, IT IS WRITTEN. But the only way we can conquer is to know God's word. We need to...

Discover God's Word- The best way to start learning something is to discover it. The stars and planets had to be discovered before anyone could talk about them. To be a conqueror we need to first discover the Bible. Read the scriptures and get to know Jesus.

-Deuteronomy 11:18-21

Digest God's Word- To learn what new food is like or to enjoy it you first have to digest it. Once we discover God's word, we need to read it, take it all in, learn the passages. When we know the scriptures and apply them to our lives, we can become conquerors against this world. -Psalm 119:18

Delight in God's Word- A good book, good friendships, a pleasant evening out, good conversation. We can find delight in all these things. We can also find delight in the Bible when we read it. Finding delight helps us want to be around Jesus and what He teaches, and we will want to learn more. Keeping Jesus close, He will help us conquer.

-Psalm 119:47

Depend on God's Word- God has shared in scripture how much He will be by our side, helping us defeat our enemies. And like in the desert when Jesus depended on scripture, He was able to conquer the devil. The best part about the scriptures is they will never fail. They will last forever; God's Word will be with us forever and His love will never fail.

-Psalm 119:89
