FAITH

Hebrews 11:6 “Without faith no one can please God. Anyone who comes to God must believe that he is real and that he rewards those who truly want to find him.”

April has been a roller coaster of ups and downs. Between this stay at home order, life having to readjust and the weather of sun, warm, cold or snow, we never know what each day will bring. Once again, I am watching the sun fall and the sun disappear and I’m laughing. Even the weather is confused.

As we come to the end of April, I’m glad we’ve made it through. Hopefully, the worst is behind us and we can look forward to warmer sunnier days and getting back to life. Maybe a new way of life, a life with work and less stress.

Monday, I talked about how we need to have trust in Jesus in all circumstances, but trust cannot stand alone. We also need faith. Believe, even without proof that God is here taking care of us. Let’s look at faith today.

F- Fix your eyes on Jesus. 1 Peter 3:12 “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,

And His ears are open to their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

The Lord is watching with a hand ready to help us, guide us, hold us. We should keep our eyes fixed on Him for strength and reassurance. Like a baby beginning to walk, they focus on their parents knowing they are safe because mom or dad is ready to catch them if they fall. Peter was able to walk on water as long as he kept his eyes on Jesus, but the minute he let fear in, he began to sink. Have faith in Jesus that He is beside you and do not let fear in.

A- Accept His grace. Titus 2:11 “That is the way we should live, because God’s grace that can save everyone has come”

The best definition I found for grace is -grace refers primarily to enabling power and spiritual healing offered through the mercy and love of Jesus Christ. To return to the presence of God we need the divine grace of Jesus-. We are all sinners, faith is believing we are filled with God’s favor or help to overcome our sins. God’s grace takes us as we are and helps us grow in Jesus.

I – Invite His perspective. Jeremiah 29:11 “I say this because I know what I am planning for you,” says the Lord. “I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future.”

We serve a God who created this world, set the stars in place, knows every hair on our head and created man from dirt and woman from a rib. Faith is, trusting God and creation and believing He has each of our lives in His hands. We cannot see the whole picture like God does, so maybe we should have faith in His perspective. He only means good for our lives, let Him lead and see the good that come from it.

T- Train your lips. Colossians 4:6 “When you talk, you should always be kind and pleasant so you will be able to answer everyone in the way you should.”

Faith also comes from our words. It is not just about knowing it and keeping it quietly, in our hearts. Share with others the good news of Jesus. Sometimes it might mean having to bite our lips sometimes when it will not uplift Jesus. When you believe it is easy to praise Jesus and when He sees us through the hard times, we can tell others how good He is. Train your lips to be full of good not evil.

H- Hide in His presence. Psalm 31:20 “You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence from the plots of man; you shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.”

There is nothing more encouraging then this verse in Psalms. When God allows us to hide in His presence man cannot harm us. We can stay focused on God and not the conspiracies of the world. Bad still can happen around us but we need to hold onto faith that God has us under His wings. If bad comes our way, we still need to have faith that God’s in control and will help us through it. I cannot think of any other place safer than, in God’s presence and under His wings.

Faith is believing that God is real and trust that God will do as He says He will, and we can get through everything. We are God’s masterpiece the highlight of His creation. He longs to be reunited with us and share heaven. This world is only a stopping place so what man does to us is only temporary, God is forever. Trust and have faith. These times will pass, and we will see the other side. Remember, one day at a time. You and your family have been given today. Serve God today and deal with tomorrow when it comes. Have a safe, faith filled, day.
