Psalm 16:11, "You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand."

Oh, those quiet early moments of the morning. The sun has barely begun to rise. The household is still asleep. All is still calm, tranquil, and silent. Yet, like a train barreling down the tracks, those moments will be lost, and the noise of the day begins. Soon, your moments will be met with decisions to be made, a to-do list to be completed, and deadlines to meet. For the next twelve hours you will be met with the day's demands, grumpy difficult people, rush hour traffic, and a world of people self-absorbed in themselves. It is now your choices must begin. But praise the Lord you have been given the choice to choose freely how you want to meet the day, deal with the people, and who you want others to see. Today and each day, from the first eye opening breath to the last closure of your eyes to sleep, it's a choice. So today…
I choose love- Romans 12:10
I choose to set aside hatred and bitterness, even at those drivers or rude clerks. I choose to love God, and all that God has created.
I choose joy- Romans 12:12
I will let God handle the problems of the day and put on a smile. I will see all problems as opportunities to see God at work. I will find contentment in all circumstances that come my way.
I choose peace- 2 Thessalonians 3:16
I will live my life as the forgiven and forgive others. I will let go of the stresses and simply look for the small blessings around me. I will find my tranquility that comes from my relationship with God and trust in Him.
I choose patience- Ephesians 4:2
I will overlook the inconveniences of the world. Instead of grumbling or cursing at the drivers, rude people, frustrating coworkers, stressful family. I will step back and thank God for moments I can talk to Him. Instead of complaining I accept all things with patience, thankful for another day to be alive.
I choose kindness- Micah 6:8
I will be kind to the poor, for many of them are alone. I will be kind to the rich, for many of them are afraid. I will be kind for this is how God treats me.
I choose goodness- Galatians 6:10
I will go without a dollar before I take one dishonestly. I will help others who may be struggling. I will show goodness because it will manifest the greatness of God.
I choose faithfulness- Proverbs 3:3-4
I will keep my promises. Pay back those I owe money too. I will be honest, so others won't have to question my words. I will be true to my spouse, so they won't question my love. I will always show up for my children, so they never doubt my love for them.
I choose gentleness- Colossians 3:12
I will do my best to show compassion to others. If someone needs a shoulder to cry on, I will be that shoulder. If I must be a strong hand, I will make sure to use a gentle touch. If I'm shouting, let it be because I'm praising. If I clench my fists, let it be in prayer. Let my words be sweet as honey and uplifting, showing the Lord's love to others.
I choose self-control- Proverbs 25:28
The world, my body, my desires are only temporary. I choose not to overindulge to satisfy what is temporary. I will remember my treasures in heaven and no I don't have to have it all to be happy. I choose the Holy Spirit to help me control my desires, impulses, and emotions in a godly way.
It's a choice and we have the free will to choose. Yet, there are only two choices. Our actions and choices can follow this world and satan where there is an end. Or we can choose Jesus and a Godly nature where salvation and everlasting life is promised. We can't sit on the fence choosing both, we must choose- Luke 11:23, Revelation 3:16, Matthew 6:24.
I don't know about you but like I like the promises the Lord offers over the empty lies the devil tries to decorate up. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
As the sun seeps in bringing on a new day, choose. Choose to live today and every day for Jesus. Today and every day choose to let the Holy Spirit live in you. Today, make a choice.
