“Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against Thee.” -Psalm 119:11
If you own a computer, which 90% of us do, even if it’s a laptop, there is one thing you never want to see scroll across your screen. ‘Your computer has a virus’.
Hopefully you have some type of virus protection in your system to correct the problem or detect it before it happens. If you don’t you could lose all your information with just one click.
With technology at its height anymore and sin everywhere, it’s so easy for hackers to try to get into your life through computers. They want to steal your information maybe your identity and without a good anti-virus program they could easily succeed.
Our lives aren’t much different then computers when it comes to someone trying to hack in and steal our identity maybe even destroy us. We know him as the Serpent of old, our adversary the devil. Once your guard is down, he can sneak in little by little and before you know it, he has hit you with a destructive virus that if left unchecked will wipe you out in the end.
Like a computer we can add an anti-virus protection to our lives that will help us detect when we are being hacked, but it needs to be added daily to stay up to date. James gives us the formula in James 5:13-16, prayer and God.
Prayer will help us through everything and keep our minds in tune with God so when those little hacks start coming into our lives, we can detect them, give them to God and let Him clear out the virus. As Christ dominates our thoughts, He can change us from one degree to another until we go to live with Him in a virus free heaven.
But it can only begin when we apply God’s anti-virus to our lives, Colossians 3:2, ‘Set your mind on things above, not on this earth’.
“Prayer should be the default setting for a Christian life. ‘Prayer without ceasing- 1 Thessalonians 5:17.” What begins as a conscious and deliberate habit can become, over time, a way of living that maintains constant contact with God.” -Max Lucado
Have you begun applying God’s anti-virus to your life? We thank you, Father, for the assurance that our imperfect prayers cannot hinder your incredible power.
