Romans 13:11-13a, 14, “This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12 The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living. Because we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see….Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.”
We are living in unusual days, maybe some can say uncertain days. Since the pandemic our country and our families have had to adjust to new ways of living, new familiarities, uncertain times. Yes, they seem to be getting back to normal, but it's a new normal. Now, after four years our country is entering a new season of unknowns and new changes.
Yet, I believe, in this new season, God is our only option. He will be our only way through, over, and out. The best part is that His plan for each of us has never changed and He is still moving forward with our lives. I love what Hebrews 6:18-19 tells us, and in all our days ahead of us, it is a promise we can hang on to. “So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.”
Have hope, God is a God of turnarounds. He can make roadways in the wilderness, highways in the desert and He is still making a way for you, even when there seems to be no way. Our nation, our government, our leaders; God is still in control, and He is clearing the path for the new season of change we are entering.
Aside from this country's changes, you yourself may be facing some struggles, some uncertainties, some unknowns. You may be crossing new bridges, good or bad. As fall turns into winter, we all are going through a new season in life physically, mentally, and spiritually. God is telling us, ‘Hold on to hope. I am the God of the living not the dead.”
Look at how God turned lives around in just a matter of a ‘season’. One season David was a shepherd, the next season he was King. One season Ruth was working in the field, the next season she owned it. One season Paul was killing Christians, the next season God used him to bring salvation to others. God is a God of turnarounds. God made a pathway through the Red Sea, provided water from a rock, sent manna to feed His people, and gave direction for His people, as a cloud during the day and a pillar of fire at night.
God is the one who defines you, who makes your way straight and your path secure. Nothing is hidden from His sight, and He has plans to prosper, not harm. Don't look away, don't get discouraged. Look up! Keep your eyes on Jesus for He is the glory and lifter of your head- Psalm 3:3, He is your exceedingly great reward- Genesis 15:1. He is our yes and amens and is anointing you and me in union, with Him.
Know that as we face a season of changes, God is entirely for you and on your side. He is still working on our behalf to fulfill His promise that He will come again, bringing salvation to this world. He is your strength and hope, no matter what the outcome of our nation has given us.
“Do not despair. Do not allow your tongue to come into agreement with the plans of the enemy. Do not allow your mind to move into doubt and unbelief. Instead, take up the whole armor of God and move into the offense. Be on guard and advance. Advance into this season, do not retreat, instead forge ahead.”- Sarah Chessman
God is living in us; He is working by our side and for us. God is a God of turnarounds and when this season is over, we can hope for greater things to come. We simply need to hold on, have hope, and believe.
You may be feeling enough is enough. When will you see a turnaround, when will the season you're in feel the winds change in your favor.
Jesus is saying, “Hold on, my plans for you will restore all the locusts have eaten in your life. I will bring order from your chaos and refreshment to your dry places in life. “ Jeremiah 29:11.
If you are seeking the turnaround, a new season, don't fold your hands and fall asleep. Declare that you have victory through Jesus and ask Him for your turnaround.
Psalm 68:1-4, “Rise up, O God, and scatter your enemies. Let those who hate God run for their lives. Blow them away like smoke. Melt them like wax in a fire. Let the wicked perish in the presence of God. But let the godly rejoice. Let them be glad in God’s presence. Let them be filled with joy. Sing praises to God and to his name! Sing loud praises to him who rides the clouds. His name is the Lord— rejoice in his presence!”
Seek the Lord first, make Him your first love and He promises you turnarounds of pure joy. Take time for Jesus now. Push the things away that hinder your relationship with Him. “I desire to establish my territory with you but first you need to desire me in your heart,” says the Lord. -Deuteronomy 4:24
As our country enters this new season, as you personally are going through changes, let Jesus be at the forefront of your thoughts and the guide of your heart.
“The Lord will put everything into place. He will establish you, give you a new beginning and a fresh start. He will place a fresh anointing and favor on your life as He already promised.”- Steve Porter
Seek the Lord, lay your life in His hands and rest in His presence. Watch Him establish you beyond what you could ever imagine!
In this new season, don't worry about what's to come. Simply hold and watch the Lord work. No matter where you stand in your beliefs regarding this nation remember, God's in control and He already has the ending in His hands.
The best way to trust God and know He is with us, for us, giving us victory, and is in control is to open the Bible and study God's Word. The Bible is not just for our amusement to pick up when we're bored or need something to do. God inspired the writers to help us grow, learn, find guidance, and to find a relationship with our loving Father. Each day is a gift and we have the freedom to worship and read as we want. Take time daily to read the Bible and study what God is teaching. Today we will continue our study with growing Godly Relationships through God's eyes with lesson 2.
